032 Lemtek

Location: BRISTOL

Evie grew up in Cirencester but also spent a lot of time in Cheltenham. Despite the fact that we both had the same friendship group when we were teenagers it took me and Evie a long time to meet each other. It wasn’t until Glade 2009 that we met and we got to know each other better through working with Green Stewards for a few years.

Through the years I’ve been in bands and DJ’d about quite a bit.”

Lemtek was established in October 2012 whilst she was still at uni “to bring heavy, foot stomping music, free cake and good vibes to the masses.” Evie runs these events as her “biggest drive is pushing music and musicians that I’m passionate about and want other people to hear! Forget the hierarchy within the music industry and just get on with the party.” Lemtek has grown quickly, “Starting off as a regular night, it then spiralled upwards and has now grown into a label with its first digital release showcasing some proper face scrunching, foot stomping tunes on it. And expecting to release Lemtek002 soon.”

The first year all of my profits went to different charities, usually around homeless issues, and I’ve never paid myself. However now the night/label gets reinvested in itself to help with the promotion of up and coming artists which I showcase at the events.”

Lemtek have a lot of upcoming events over the next few months and throughout festival season. They also have the regular nights in London, the next one is on the 28th of May and the event page can be found here. Lemtek are going to be making an appearance at “Rave on Avon in Bristol on the 16th May, and at Mischief Festival in September where we’re part of the ‘Garden of Jungle’.

Working in the music industry can be challenging but Evie says that one of the main reasons why she does it is “just seeing people have fun and enjoy the music. If I can see people enjoying it and having it, I’m happy!”

As previously mentioned Evie has already released one digital album LEMTEK 001 – Zesty Brain Juice, you can find a link to it here. It’s a 12 track album bringing you a collection of Jungle, Hardtek, Breakcore and other tunes all for only £5! Excitingly “there is a new one dropping within the next few months which guarantees more mind melting tunes.”  To keep up to date with what’s to come then follow on Facebook and Soundcloud….”STAY ZESTY!”
